Restorative Dentistry

A Smile as
Good as New

While our goal is to keep your natural teeth healthy and intact for as long as possible, we’re all human – we’re not perfect, and things happen. Whether it’s years of sugar addiction or an unfortunate accident, it’s not uncommon to break or lose a tooth (or teeth) at some point in your life. The important thing is what you do about it. Leaving teeth broken or missing will only lead to further complications down the road. It’s important to restore your smile as soon as possible so you can get back to living a full, healthy life with a full, healthy grin.

If you have a tooth that is broken or badly decayed and is past the point of repairing with a filling, inlay or onlay, you may need a crown to restore the function and aesthetics of your smile. Crowns are tooth-shaped caps made from a durable, natural-looking tooth colored porcelain to look, feel, and function just like your natural teeth.

Crowns do require some preparation of the natural tooth to ensure the best fit and strongest bond. Having a crown placed usually requires two appointments.

  1. Your first visit will include digital impression with our 3D imaging machine. You know what that means? No more sitting with nasty impression goop in your mouth! Digital impressions are a much more pleasant experience for the patient, and allow us to create restorations with a higher level of precision than ever before.
  2. We will send your digital impressions to our off-site dental lab to have your final restoration created. In the meantime, we will fit you with a temporary crown to wear until your next visit, so you don’t have to live without a tooth.
  3. When you return for your final appointment, we will remove the temporary for the placement of your brand new crown.

If you’re missing a single tooth or multiple teeth, you may be in need of a bridge. Bridges generally consist of one or more fabricated teeth, anchored to surrounding teeth on either side with the help of crowns. To fix your bridge in place, some preparation of the natural teeth is necessary to place the crowns. We do have removable options available, but we highly recommend fixed bridges for the most natural look, feel and function. At Wince Family Dental Associates, our 3D imaging machine makes having your bridge created easier than ever before. Durable, natural looking tooth colored porcelain perfectly blends in with your natural teeth and can withstand the high biting and chewing forces in your mouth.

Bridges can help:

  • Prevent surrounding teeth from shifting
  • Restore balance back to your mouth
  • Protect teeth alignment, bite and TMJ
  • Allow you to eat and chew naturally
  • Clean and maintain like natural teeth
  • Smile with confidence again!

If you’re missing most or all of your natural teeth or living with ill-fitting dentures that rock and slip, we would love to help you secure your smile with our modern denture options. We love creating custom dentures made from the most durable, natural looking ceramics and acrylic that allow our patients to live a life without worrying about their teeth.

Partial Dentures

If you’re missing many teeth, but still have some healthy teeth intact, we can help you get back what you’ve lost, without throwing in the towel entirely. We can fit you with a partial denture to replace missing teeth, leaving room for your natural teeth to remain. Partial dentures are typically removable appliances, anchored to surrounding teeth with metal bars and clasps. Once in place, no one will be able to tell the difference.

All-on-4™ Teeth in a Day

The All-on-4™ treatment concept replaces your missing teeth with a full dental bridge supported by only four dental implants. The back implants are placed at an angle, so they can support more teeth with fewer implants. With fewer implants needed, the overall treatment time is reduced. The unique All-on-4™ solution also ensures greater stability in the bone, reducing the need for bone graft surgery to increase bone volume. The All-on-4™ Teeth in a Day system allows us to place implants and secure a full denture the same day, so you don’t have to go several months without arch, like with traditional implant placement.

Implant Supported Dentures

If you are a candidate, we highly recommend securing your dentures with dental implants. Implant dentures help prevent jawbone deterioration and offer the highest level of security for your dentures. Implant supported dentures can be fixed in place so you never have to worry about taking them out for soaking – they can be cleaned and maintained like natural teeth. What about hard, crunchy, sticky foods? No match for implant supported dentures created by our skilled dental team at Wince Family Dental Associates.
